Farmhouse Forge is the metal working studio of noted artist-blacksmith James Gonzalez.  The shop is located in the heart of the North Country of New York state on the site of a former dairy farm.

James has been in business since 2001 after studying sculpture at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.  He specializes in bringing art and creativity to the functional and strives for a collaborative process with the client to arrive at investment quality ironwork.  Products range in scale from the hand held to architectural.  The process begins with a consultation to arrive at a working understanding of what a potential client is looking for.  Next comes a design phase, in which scale drawings are developed to define the proposed design further until it is exactly right.   For larger projects the design can be further clarified with an actual metal sample being generated.  The final phase is the forging, assembly and installation.
